If you wish to study for more than
three months, you must apply for the appropriate study visa in
accordance with New Zealand embassy requirements. These fall into three
categories:
Student Visa New Zealand
Student visas for school and college
applicants are awarded on acceptance into an academic institution.
Their length is dependent on the length of the course, and how many
years’ tuition fees you have paid up front. If you are a scholarship
student, your visa may be granted for the period of the award. In all
cases, a visa is awarded for a maximum of four years. Start your free
assessment to see if you can apply.
Exchange Student Visa
If you need an exchange student visa
for New Zealand, you must have been accepted into an approved student
exchange scheme, and prove that you have onward travel arrangements for
when the scheme has finished.
Visas for Accompanying Parents and Guardians
If you have a child under the age of
18 studying in New Zealand you will also need to apply for a guardian
visa. To be eligible, your child must have been accepted into an
academic institution and have his or her study visa for New Zealand.
