Foreign nationals who need a
Schengen visa for travel to Finland are requested to apply for it at the
nearest Finnish mission or at a mission of another Schengen country,
which represents Finland in visa matters, not earlier than three (3)
months prior to the planned visit.
The Schengen member states are
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein,
Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Applying for a Schengen Visa
A Schengen visa for travel to
Finland is applied for with a visa application form available from this
website. Please follow the link below. The application form must be
filled in and signed, and the application must be accompanied by one
passport-sized photograph. Processing the visa application can start
only after the visa fee has been paid.
The application form shall be
submitted, together with a valid passport and the required additional
documents, to the Finnish Embassy or Consulate at which the visa is
applied for.
The required documentation includes
e.g. proof of a paid travel insurance and flight tickets. Some Embassies
or Consulates may require further documentation, and therefore the
applicant should always check the requirements with the Embassy or
Consulate in question.
Application forms sent to the Embassy or Consulate by e-mail or telefax will not be processed.
