UK Tourist Visitor Visa
A UK tourist visa, often variously
referred to as a UK visit visa or travel visa is issued for a maximum
period of six months after which the applicant will be obliged to return
to their country of residence.
A UK visitor visa is issued as a
temporary permit and does not provide a route to permanent residency in
the UK. Although a visit visa may be granted as a multiple entry visa
with an overall duration of up to two years, the total amount of time
spent in the UK must still not exceed 6 months and applicants must leave
the UK once their leave to enter the UK has expired. A travel visa does
not provide the opportunity to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or to pursue a grant of UK citizenship.
